Project:SoL

Server rules

Simple fair-play rules that protect the shared world of Midgard.

✦
Core principle

Play fairly

Do not gain an advantage unavailable to ordinary players. Do not interfere with others or treat server bugs as game mechanics.

01
Basics

General provisions

By playing Project:SoL, you accept these rules and take responsibility for your game account's actions.

  • Intentionally disrupting the game server, website, launcher or related services is prohibited.
  • Impersonating an administrator or project representative is prohibited.
  • Not knowing the rules does not exempt you from responsibility.
02
Fair play

Accounts and game windows

Project:SoL is designed for one person playing in one active game client.

  • Only one game window may be used at a time.
  • Bypassing the window limit using virtual machines, containers, remote computers or other technical means is prohibited.
  • Players are responsible for keeping their game login, password and verified email access secure.
  • Sharing account access is at the owner's risk. The administration is not obliged to restore items lost after access was voluntarily shared.
03
Client

Third-party software and automation

All game actions must be performed by the player.

  • Bots, automatic farming macros, autoclickers and other software that performs game actions independently are prohibited.
  • Software that modifies network packets, client speed or game mechanics is prohibited.
  • Bypassing anti-cheat or client restrictions is prohibited.
  • Visual client changes are allowed only if they provide no gameplay advantage.
04
Important

Bugs and vulnerabilities

Report discovered bugs to the administration rather than using them for an advantage.

  • Repeatedly exploiting a bug to gain Zeny, EXP, items, rewards or another advantage is prohibited.
  • Sharing instructions for exploiting critical vulnerabilities before they are fixed is prohibited.
  • Items or progress obtained through a bug may be removed.
05
Economy

Trading

The in-game economy must remain part of the game itself.

  • Selling Zeny, items or game accounts for real money is prohibited.
  • Defrauding other players during trading is prohibited.
  • The administration may decline to review agreements between players that cannot be verified using server data.
06
Community

Communication

Discussion and competition are welcome. Deliberately making the game a constant nuisance for others is not.

  • Threats, targeted harassment and publishing other people's personal information are prohibited.
  • Mass spam in game channels is prohibited.
  • Advertising other game servers without administrator approval is prohibited.
  • Character and guild names must not impersonate official Project:SoL administrator names.
07
Moderation

Administrator actions

Measures depend on the nature, scope and recurrence of the violation.

  • Possible measures include a warning, temporary restrictions and an account ban.
  • Items, Zeny or progress obtained through violations may be removed.
  • Serious violations involving cheats, bots, hacking or vulnerability exploitation may result in a ban without warning.
  • Rules may be clarified as the server evolves. Significant changes must be published openly.
